Last Night in Soho is the name of the upcoming Edgar Wright film, and it’s shaping up to be one of the most exciting films of the year with a seriously impressive cast, including The Queen’s Gambit star Anya Taylor-Joy, Matt Smith (The Crown), and Thomasin McKenzie (JoJo Rabbit).
Edgar Wright is the director behind cult classics like Shaun of the Dead and Baby Driver, so we’ve got high hopes for his latest work. What is Last Night in Soho about?
The film is a mix of the drama, horror and thriller genres, so it’s a tense watch. It also jumps between time zones, harking back to the 1960s.
The official description reads: “A young girl, passionate about fashion design, is mysteriously able to enter the 1960s where she encounters her idol, a dazzling wannabe singer. But 1960s London is not what it seems, and time seems to fall apart with shady consequences.”
Eloise, with her strange sixth sense finds herself transported back in time but in the body of her iconic night club singer/idol named Sandie. While in Sandie’s body, Eloise begins a romantic relationship; but she begins to realise that Sandie’s life is not as glamorous as it appears to be and both past and present begin to fall apart.
Anna Taylor-Joy plays the 1960s wannabe singer Sandie, while Thomasin McKenzie plays the fashion designer.

There is not one, nor two, but three – and they’re all pretty creepy. As you would expect from an Edgar Wright film, it gives just enough to lure you in.
