You might not yet have heard the name Chloe Fineman but, trust us, within the next few months, you will have. The California-girl turned NYU Tisch graduate turned megastar is the next big thing. In fact, she’s just been announced as a featured player (or series regular) on America’s longest-running comedy-sketch show Saturday Night Live and set to star in Damien Chazelle’s (of La La Land fame) upcoming film Babylon alongside, oh only, Brad Pitt and Margot Robbie. So we thought it was about time we start getting to know her. Not to mention, her precious pooch Peaches, who has a following of over 7.5K on Instagram. No biggie.
Who is Chloe Fineman?
Born in Berkley, California in 1988, to an artist and biotech executive, Fineman has always been involved in the arts, having first appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman as a teenager, performing a bird call – as you do. She’s also the middle child of three sisters, one of whom she attended NYFW with last month, dressed head-to-toe in Alice & Olivia. After graduating from New York University’s elite Tisch programme and the Stella Adler Studio, she joined The Groundlings improv troupe in Los Angeles. Cut to 2019, she was nominated for best comedian at the Shorty Awards and has just been named this season’s MVP by Andy Hogland at Entertainment Weekly. Now, she’s the coolest comedian on the block and even Jennifer Aniston is queuing up to be Friends with her.
Where have I seen Chloe Fineman?
You can spot Fineman in several hit shows, such as Jane the Virgin and Search Party. Her most recent performance in Awkwafina’s hit Comedy Central show Nora From Queens left us not knowing which comedic genius to look at first. A scene stealer, shall we say? Nonetheless, her strengths come in her impressions, which is what led her to land a gig on SNL. Dubbed the ‘female Pete Davidson’ she went viral on YouTube for her spot-on take on none other than the queen herself, Meryl Streep. Her repertoire also includes the one and only Britney Spears, the iconic Jennifer Coolidge and everyone’s favourite period drama princess, Keira Knightley. Critics have called her “absolutely one of the most talented performers right now, and she’s long overdue for a break.” Well, we reckon she’s just got that break.
What’s next for Chloe Fineman?
Talking of period dramas, keep your eyes peeled for Christmas Day 2022. Fineman is set to appear in Paramount Pictures’ Babylon alongside Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, Olivia Wilde and Samara Weaving (of Nine Perfect Strangers fame) – not too shabby a line-up, we think you’d agree? Produced by Toby Maguire, this Damien Chazelle masterpiece is set during the Golden Age of Hollywood as the film industry shifts from silent films to ‘talkies.’ Fineman has also just made her first appearance at the Met Gala wearing Tory Burch, alongside Mindy Kaling. With her 1920’s inspired gorgeous white gown, it could be a nod to her future role in Babylon. Nod or not, it was indisputably gorgeous. Not to mention, she is also rumoured to be currently filming the new Father of the Bride film, with Andy García and Gloria Estefan. No question, Chloe Fineman is a busy girl with an ever-growing IMDb page.
Is Chloe Fineman on social media?
Absolutely. With 536K followers on Instagram, including the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, Alexa Chung and Sophie Turner, there is no doubt that Chloe Fineman (@chloeiscrazy) is one to watch (and follow). There’s also a ton of her impressions videos to sink your teeth into on YouTube – most recently with Jimmy Fallon on the Tonight Show. Her chameleon-esque ability to seamlessly morph from A-Lister to A-Lister is so watchable and makes her the perfect addition to the SNL line-up. The most interesting social media account of hers, however, is her 26.3K followers on TikTok. Yes, you heard us correctly, there is a millennial celeb using TikTok as a platform successfully, without being dubbed by 14-year-old critics as a ‘cheugie girlboss’. Her Reese Witherspoon video is my favourite and definitely worth checking out. Sadly, she is the only current comedian missing from my Twitter feed but I think I have enough impressions content to binge watch tonight before she lands on our screens for the foreseeable future. Not to mention, her dog’s insta content is top tier comedy (@peachiscrazy because we know you’ll want to stalk). Neutering jokes and cute puppy pics abound.
And, just because we’ve been watching it on loop ourselves, here’s a clip of Chloe doing some of the best celeb impressions you’ve ever heard. You’re welcome.
