India is a country that has experienced something of a restorative and revitalized period in recent years. The region continues to see growth in a variety of ways. In Kiara Chettri, we may have found one of India’s best kept secrets, until now. With an Ariana Grande/Christina Aguilera like vocal range, Kiara Chettri is only 17, but has already amassed a selection of high quality recordings. High quality is actually a bit of an understatement, as what we have heard from Kiara, thus far, is easily radio ready.

“Falling,” is the newest single from Kiara Chettri, and it is yet again, another quality offering from the young songstress. It’s convenient to categorize, Chettri as a Pop act, and it’s relatively accurate, as well. On “Falling,” she shows hints of burgeoning influences, such as a modern flavor of blues. From the intro, the song has a sparseness, and leisurely pace, that eventually evolves into something grand and sweeping. Chettri shows remarkable restraint and composure, throughout, exuding an unmistakable confidence.
When you’re a 17 year old musician/singer, you don’t necessarily have a litany of stories to tell. Therefore, you tell stories that are written for you, or position yourself in the 2nd person, so to speak. Kiara Chettri has the innate ability to channel the emotions of the song’s character, while still sounding fully authentic. Though she isn’t as instantly distinctive as Billie Eilish, or Lorde, she does have a striking and inimitable tonal quality, that intrigues as well as moves. She is bound to face comparisons, such as the aforementioned ones in the previous paragraphs, but that’s unavoidable and inevitable.
At the core of “Falling” is essentially a story about the crumbling of a relationship. Kiara veers from tearful sustain to sentimental alacrity, gracefully throughout the piece. Her range is already stunning, but if you really lean in on some of her most dramatic notes, you can hear that she hasn’t fully reached her peak. Her lyrics are at times, indecipherable, and while this is either intentional or somewhat impertinent, it’s nonetheless, notable. For this particular piece, it seems that the song would have been better served by concise enunciation
It almost seems to be a faux accompli that you will be hearing Kiara Chettri in some major capacity, in the near future. Whether it be “Falling,” or another breakout track, Chettri is an almost foolproof prospect in the modern industry market. Based solely on “Falling,” it’s rather obvious that she has few limitations, if any at all. Kiara has been quite open in her hopes for global success, striving for the same goals as many of her peers likely are. In Chettri’s case, she has already shown that she has the level of talent that it takes to reach unprecedented heights. “Falling,” might not be the most immediate kind of song that grabs the world by the hand, but it’s a viable one, indeed. Therefore, the fall, may just be an integral step in the eventual rise of Kiara Chettri.
