And Just Like That might be the show we’re all waiting for, but how would you feel if we said a recent script leak shows Big might still be a low-key trash bag? Yup… it’s a possibility.
So warning, some spoilers ahead.
Sex And The City is getting its long awaited reboot and every time new set pictures drop we get that bit more buzzed for it. But now some of the script has been leaked, so we’ve found out a little more than we were expecting to.
Carrie and Big never had it going smoothly or easily, but even a decade later that hasn’t changed. Will we ever see a main film couple who navigate their relationship in a healthy way? Perhaps, but maybe not here.
Much of the drama in SATC centres on the character’s love lives, and with Carries it’s usually about Big. Page Six say this time, the leak shows things are even more fraught between them. Carrie and Big tied the knot at the end of the first Sex And The City movie, but now it appears they’re divorced and trying to navigate their new roles as exes.
In the scene, Carrie is discussing her divorce from Big with her friends Stanford Blatch (Willie Garson), Miranda Hobbes (Cynthia Nixon) and Charlotte York Goldenblatt (Kristin Davis).
Carrie says: “I was taping the podcast, I was washing my hair. Yes, I wasn’t eating or sleeping, but at least I felt good about my marriage. Now I’m just one of the wives he was taking care of?”
Viewers will remember that Big was married twice before getting with Carrie, but it looks as though this may be his messiest divorce yet. We’ll have to wait and see.
The other big spoiler which we already knew is that the infamous Samantha won’t be in this film, given that Kim Cattrall didn’t want to do a reboot.
Instead, the cast will this time be far more diverse with a group of women from different ethnic backgrounds – finally. Sarah Jessica Parker posted on her Instagram: “”THRILLED to welcome @therealsararamirez, @NicoleAriParker, Karen Pittman and Sarita Choudhury to #AndJustLikeThat. Can’t wait to work with these brilliant actors who bring so much talent, humour and excitement to our ensemble.”
The Carrie and Big drama might not be over, but there’s a lot of fresh energy in this reboot. And though we know some details, the end is still let to be seen. Maybe their divorce isn’t necessarily the end?
