Summer Game Fest 2021 hosted the New World Deep Dive, an in-depth look at what’s coming for Amazon’s MMO launching Aug. 31. Geoff Keighley, founder of Summer Game Fest and The Game Awards, wrapped the New World Deep Dive with the game director Scott Lane. The two discussed community questions about the game, as well as feedback from New World’s closed preview in the summer of 2020. As a result of the closed beta, New World released more information about mid- and endgame content, including boss fights to come.
Players enter Aeternum, the island in New World, shipwrecked without any resources or allies. There are three warring factions on the island: the Corrupted, the Ancient, and the Lost. Over the past century, the Corrupted have slowly gained a foothold over the others, largely thanks to the efforts of The Tempest. The Tempest is on a mission to unmake life on the island and eventually destroy the world. The humans on the island are tasked with stopping the evil forces via quests called expeditions, which take players to new areas on the map replete with new villains and boss fights.

New World developers added a great deal of content after feedback from players during the closed beta test. In addition to crafting and improving the PvE experience, Amazon has started to release expedition storylines, giving players a taste of the adventures to come. Here’s everything that’s been revealed about each boss in New World so far.
Every New World Boss Revealed For The MMO So Far
Easily recognized by her glowing red eyes, Isabella is described by associate art director Sojin Hwang as one of the most challenging foes in New World. Images of her so far show a ruby strapped to her chest that bears a striking resemblance to the ruby shown in the statue’s forehead at the heart of Aeternum. Whether Isabella’s ruby is the same gem as the island’s heart or merely a replica remains to be seen, but as the heart ruby seems to be the source of the Corrupted’s power on Aeternum, players would do well to be wary of Isabella.
Inhabiting Reekwater, a floating fishing village, not much is known about the fearsome ruler the Siren Queen. She and her crew landed on the island in hopes of creating a society in which all are created equal, but somewhere along the way, she lost herself and her purpose. Wielding a massive harpoon, the Siren Queen wears pirate garb festered with barnacles, a creepy sight to behold.
The Empress of Ebonscale leads the Ebonscale Reach, a mysterious area inhabiting the northwest corner of the map. Once a bright and promising young woman, she was forced to flee from her homeland, driven out by her jealous half-brothers. Now, she builds an army of corrupted in New World in a plan to reclaim her lineage and take her rightful place on the throne.
