Concourse Media Launches Sales On Police Violence Thriller ‘A Shot Through The Wall’

EXCLUSIVE: Concourse Media has acquired worldwide sales rights to writer-director Aimee Long’s thriller A Shot Through The Wall, which looks at how a Chinese-American police officer’s life unravels after he accidentally shoots an innocent Black man in Brooklyn, leading to protests and further violence.

The film boasts a predominantly Asian-American cast including Kenny Leu (Midway), Tzi Ma (Mulan), Lynn Chen (Saving Face), Fiona Fu (Away), and Ciara Renee (The Flash), alongside Dan Lauria (The Wonder Years), Clifton Davis (Madame Secretary) and Derek Goh (Limitless).

Facing trial for inadvertently discharging his weapon, the officer wades through his guilt as he attempts to navigate the intricate and complicated worlds of media, justice, racial politics and his own morality. Forced to confront the fatal mistake, he and his family struggle with the fallout, shame and complexities of being under the spotlight of a national dilemma.

“Aimee manages to deliver a poignant perspective while also creating a riveting experience that will leave audiences wide-eyed,” said Concourse Media CEO Matthew Shreder. “The film delves into the moral and real-world consequences of an unforgivable mistake while bringing new viewpoints to the conversation on racial injustice.”

The film has played at festivals including Bentonville Film Festival, Whistler Film Festival, Urbanworld and Torino Film Festival. Daniel Langa and Aimee Long produced under their Kings Road Pictures banner.

“I wanted to make a film that shows the tragedy of police violence for the difficult problem that it is,” said director Long. “There is a real struggle with systemic racism in our country. Hopefully, at the end of my film, the audience will empathize with the real people affected by this pain.”

Concourse recently inked a deal with CBS Entertainment Digital for their documentary Woman in Motion: Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek and the Remaking of NASA to play on Paramount +. That film launches on the platform this week.
