Kelly Clarkson Had the Zoom Cat Filter Lawyer on Her Show, and Sadly, He Was Not a Cat

We can’t blame Texas lawyer Rod Ponton for stealing Kelly Clarkson‘s heart after his Zoom mishap went viral. On Feb. 23, Ponton made an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show to let the host, and the Internet, know how he’s been doing since the cat filter made him famous. As for how the cat filter got there, your guess is as good as Ponton’s. “I don’t have a clue how it got there. I’ve been doing Zoom hearings for nine months,” he told the host. “There I am in the waiting room and the moment the judge calls the case and we move over into the actual virtual courtroom, suddenly and miraculously, I turn into a cat.”

For the curious — although curiosity did kill the cat — Ponton did win his case after reaching an agreement with the other side. “You just kept going, you were like, ‘But I got this, I can win this as a cat,'” Clarkson stated with a laugh about the situation and Ponton’s preparedness. “I could,” Ponton eagerly added. You can watch their full exchange, and Clarkson’s impersonation of the cat, in the full video above.
