The best Airbnbs in the UK to book for a luxe British holiday

The best Airbnbs in the UK are getting booked up at an alarming rate right now, with huge thanks to Boris Johnson’s “out-of-lockdown roadmap” announcement on Monday.

It’s no surprise: Airbnbs are a *great* accommodation choice for both British and overseas holidays (the former, quite clearly, the better choice for summer 2021). Whether you’re looking for a cute and cosy holiday cottage, a flashy apartment for a city break in the UK or a sweet spot for your girls’ weekend away, taking over an entire property gives you tonnes of space and privacy. Airbnbs allow you to feel totally at home in your chosen holiday destination – all while ensuring your maintain a safe social distance from other households. Win, win.

Airbnb was founded back in 2008, and before its existence, it was immeasurably more difficult to find a holiday rental for your romantic weekend break/family holiday/boozy weekend away with your mates. Fast-forward to today and there are *millions* of properties onsite. You can search by location, date and number of people in your party before filtering properties by amenities (holiday homes with pools/holiday cottages with hot tubs – yes PLEASE). You can also select to view Airbnb Plus properties only: this is a fairly new addition to the Airbnb family; the Airbnbs listed as “Plus” are the fanciest you can get. Case in point: this beachfront house with hot tub in Cornwall (obsessed) or this converted church in the Cotswolds.

With so many stunning properties to choose from, it can be a bit overwhelming when it comes to choosing the best Airbnb for you. Enter: GLAMOUR’s guide to the best Airbnbs in the UK. In celebration of the not-too-distant (we hope) end of lockdown, GLAMOUR editors have revealed their favourite Airbnb properties in the country for you to book/add to your wishlist for future travels. Just make sure you get a wriggle on if it’s summer 2021 you’re booking for – available dates are dwindling by the second.
