Exclusive Interview with Isaac Friend

Hi Isaac! What have you been up to so far with your music?

Do you mean during the pandemic or in general? In general, I’ve been playing in bands since I was a teenager, but the last couple of years I’ve been focusing on songwriting and releasing music as a solo artist. Learning to transition from a traveling live performer to an artist in the Covid era has been a blessing in disguise. I’ve been writing a lot and recording music to get out into the world.

What would your fans be surprised to learn about you?

I am pretty transparent about my life with my fans, but I think people would be surprised that I don’t drink or smoke, and that I have kids.

Where is a place you can’t wait to perform when you can?

I’ve been living in Denver for the last two years, and there are tons of great venues there, so I can’t wait to play the Bluebird Theater and The Boulder Theater, and pretty much any of the solid venues there. Red Rocks is the obvious choice. Maybe one day. And I can’t wait to play throughout Nashville. Outside of the U.S., I’d like to get to Japan and China and all throughout Europe.

What has been the best reaction you’ve received from a fan that was a result of your music?

I’ve loved seeing people tattoo my lyrics on themselves, or cover my songs. I love hearing that people play them at their weddings and put them on their playlists, but I generally just feel fulfilled hearing that it matters to anyone.

We can’t wait to see what’s up next with you! How do we keep connected?

I’m building my new website, so that will be announced on my other social media platforms.
