‘Married life is glorious’: Emma Lou and Ollie Proudlock on the honeymoon period, couples workouts and how they’re celebrating Valentine’s Day

You know those couples you scroll past on Instagram and think ‘goals’? I’m sure we’d all agree that Emma Louise and Ollie Proudlock personify that.

With their hilarious TikToks, romantic movie nights and mouthwatering culinary adventures, the recently-married duo are living their best loved-up lives and we can’t even be mad because they’re so bloody nice. So is it all as blissful as it seems on those tiny square tiles? We hate to break it to you, but yes. “Married life is glorious,” they tell me about life in lockdown after they tied the knot in secret back in December when intimate weddings of 15 people were allowed.

The pair tied the knot at St Albans Church in Fulham, after previously cancelling three wedding dates due to COVID. The original plan was to get married at Cowdray Park in West Sussex in front of 200 guests but the couple had to change plans several times and their fourth option was to squeeze in a small wedding before Christmas due to the ever-changing rules. The couple proved love wins in an ethereal wedding ceremony that had the nation swooning (that bespoke Pronovias Atelier lace gown though).

Now, several months on from the wedding of the pandemic, as they team up with Seven Dials to create a Valentine’s gift guide looking at some of the amazing independent brands that they have to offer, GLAMOUR caught up with the Insta-famous duo to chat all things honeymoon period, love in lockdown, Emma’s new culinary venture and how they’re celebrating Valentine’s Day.

Our low-key, lazy Valentine’s Day

We’ve decided this year we will keep it small, nothing too crazy. We are however going to have a super lazy day, Ollie will be taking charge of brunch and Emma will be handling the dinner. I think we will most likely stay in our robes all day and binge-watch movies.

This year we are going to keep it super cosy, we would have typically probably gone to one of our favourite restaurants in London for dinner but actually we’ve been really embracing the date night at home, at Casa Proudlock. I (Ollie) have zero idea what the Greedy Model is going to cook up but I am excited. In terms of hosting tips, what we like to do – and think works well – is have one person take charge and plan a special evening. It makes it a nice surprise for the other person. Don’t just think about the food, try styling the room/table, create a great music playlist and also a little theme/fancy dress aspect never goes amiss. The aim is to make it as out of home as out of home can be in London lockdown.

Glorious married life and the honeymoon period

Married life is glorious, not a huge amount is different minus having another Proudlock in the Casa. Ems has realised she can now officially steal all of my personalised Proudlock pieces of clothing. We were married a couple of weeks before Christmas which made Christmas and that whole period feel really special; it was also nice to have a few weeks to relax. We also had Emma’s parents with us during lockdown so that was lovely spending time with them too. We’ve had a super lazy January too, really milking the lockdown honeymoon, but we are both excited to get back into work and have some cool projects lined up.

Emma on the booming success of her new Instagram venture, The Greedy Model

All the positive support has been super overwhelming but I have had such incredible feedback and I am just so happy to see that so many people love food and cooking as much as I do. My plans are to continue cooking and eating, cooking and eating and just try and come up with as many delicious recipes as possible. I have some really exciting future plans bubbling, so stay tuned.

Emma’s signature lockdown recipe

We love a great Chicken Milanese dish and have done for FOREVER but have also been eating a lot of Beef Ragu, because we are at home all the time so can have it simmering and stewing away for 3-4 hours. I am perfecting the recipe as we speak and will be dropping it soon on The Greedy Model Instagram.

I (Ollie) have mainly just been doing strength work, have been giving my body a bit of a rest of this year. I have been doing 2-3 runs in the morning each week and then Emma and I both work with Technogym and were kindly gifted one of their benches, which is epic. It is super compact, has all the weights attached and makes working out super easy.

Our post-lockdown bucket list

Bucket list no.1: we would love to get away and go and see my mum (Ollie), we haven’t seen her in over a year now. We would also love to see my sister who currently lives in Amsterdam. So once lockdown is released that’s definitely top of our agenda. But before then, we’d just love to go and have a really long boozy lunch with all our close friends, probably at the River Cafe.
