Regé-Jean Page tried to warn his family about the NSFW scenes in Bridgerton, but unfortunately, some people didn’t get the memo. At this point, it’s surely no secret that Shonda Rhimes’s Netflix series features plenty of steamy moments between Page’s Duke of Hastings and Phoebe Dynevor’s Daphne. However, during a recent appearance on The Graham Norton Show, the actor revealed how even a few cautionary emoji couldn’t protect his crew from certain sultry scenes.
“We’ve got a family WhatsApp group, so there’s a couple flashing red light emojis and there’s the odd peach emoji — certain people have threatened to rate my peach,” he joked. “But we missed a couple of family members . . . a couple of cousins missed the memo, so they’re watching the show and I got a very stern message in my Instagram DMs just going, ‘There really needs to be a cousin warning.'” One relative even ended up making “tactical cups of tea” as a distraction, but as Page recalled, they said, “I left the room to make my tactical cup of tea and came back and you were still going!'”
Well, at least Page’s family learned their lesson before Bridgerton‘s second season, which is promised to be just as sexy. Watch the actor recount his funny family interactions above as we anxiously await the Regency drama’s return.
