Paramount and Skydance had been set to release The Tomorrow War on December 25, 2020, but those plans of course changed when, well, everything changed due to the pandemic.
Deadline now reports that Skydance is shopping the Chris Pratt-starring, Chris McKay-directed (The Lego Batman Movie) movie to streamers, and there’s a good deal of interest.
Deadline reports, “The Tomorrow War was recently screened to the major streamers over the weekend. It played really well, I hear, and that there is a strong interest for the movie. Skydance, I understand, is leading the process in selling the movie here, not Paramount.”
More as we learn it.
“The script, with drafts by Zach Dean and Bill Dubuque, is set in a future where humanity is losing a war against aliens. To turn the tide, scientists draft soldiers from the past to fight the war.”
J.K. Simmons, Betty Gilpin, Sam Richardson, Yvonne Strahovski, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Edwin Hodge, Seychelle Gabriel, Alan Trong, Chibuikem Uche, Alexis Louder and Theo Von also star.
