Exclusive Interview with Jenny Roques

Hi Jenny! Thank you for taking the time to chat with us!

How do you feel the internet has impacted the music business?

The internet has completely changed the music business in SO many ways, but especially promotion. We have so many platforms to reach new audiences across the world. This is such an amazing thing to have!

What made you want to become a musician?

I have always had a connection with music, from studying dance for 15 years to playing and learning different instruments and creating. The main reason would be the connection it creates between humans and emotion. It is truly a beautiful way to express oneself!

What do you enjoy most about making and creating music?

Collaboration and hearing the evolution of ideas into finished songs. It’s truly incredible to hear how a song idea changes from the first thoughts to a final product.

Are there any musicians or artists who inspire you? What qualities do you admire most about them?

I am inspired by many artists from all time periods, it’s so hard to just choose one! From the rockers in the late ’70s to modern artists, I am especially inspired by the women who laid the groundwork to equality. Billie Holiday, Sister Rosetta Tharp, Kate Bush, Tori Amos, Neko Case, Shakira, so many strong women creating on their own terms!

What sets your music apart from others? What makes it unique?

I feel that everyone is unique with their talents. All of my work is genuine and from the heart.

Do you have any hidden talents? If so, tell us!

I am a great multi-tasker! 🙂

Please tell our readers how they can stay up to date with you in 2021!
