Georgia Election Official Is Going to Punch a Hole Through the Next TV He Sees Trump Lying About the Election On

If you listened to Donald Trump’s hour-long shakedown of Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, wherein he demanded an elected official “find” 11,780 votes or suffer the consequences, you already know that the outgoing president of the United States very likely committed numerous crimes for which he could and should be prosecuted. But holding Trump accountable for his actions won’t happen right away (if it does at all), and in fact, there’s something more pressing that needs to happen in the immediate interim. And it’s that Donald Trump needs to sit down and STFU, a sentiment being expressed not just by Democrats and Joe Biden voters but also Republicans like Georgia’s voting system manager Gabriel Sterling, who is sick of watching Trump wipe his ass with the original copy of the Constitution and held an entire press conference on Monday to basically say as much.

Speaking to reporters from the state capitol in Atlanta alongside a poster with a “Claim” column versus a “Fact” column, Sterling said, “When I listened to the audio of [Trump’s] phone call…I wanted to scream…well I did scream at the computer, and I screamed in my car, at the radio…because this has been debunked.” He added: “The reason I’m having to stand here today is because there are people in positions of authority and respect who have said their votes didn’t count, and it’s not true. It’s Groundhog Day again. I’m going to talk about the things I’ve talked about repeatedly for two months, but I’m going to do it for one last time—I’m hoping.”

Going through the long list of incoherent nonsense Trump cited on the call with Raffensperger, Sterling said that no, there were no ballots cast by people under 18, people who weren‘t registered to vote, people who registered late, or people with a P.O. box instead of a residential address. Referring to Trump’s claim of ballot scanners being hacked, he noted that “it’s very hard to hack things without modems”; of the conspiracy theory that parts of the Dominion voting machines were replaced, “I don’t even know what that means.” Sterling added that Georgia’s Secretary of State does not, in fact, have a brother named “Ron” who supposedly works for a Chinese technology company, nor does he have a brother named “Ron,” period.

At one point, like a man clearly, completely, and thoroughly over this bullshit, Sterling told reporters that he’s had to “argue with people” he’s “known for 20 years” who “say our election was stolen, we feel like our votes don’t count.” To them, Sterling said he responds: “I’m not acknowledging that the election was stolen because it wasn’t. I’m not acknowledging that there was massive voter fraud because there wasn’t.” Then urged Georgians to get out and vote in Tuesday’s election which, hilariously, some are reportedly planning to skip thanks to Trump’s voter-fraud fantasies, a strategy the Republicans trying to win are presumably extra grateful for. “If you want your values reflected by your elected officials, I strongly beg and encourage you, go vote tomorrow,” Sterling said. “Do not self-suppress your own vote. Don’t let anybody steal your vote that way.”

Speaking of Georgia…

Many Republicans unsurprisingly loved Trump’s attempt to extort Raffensperger and have the state’s sham, crooked election results thrown out but, uh, only when it comes to Biden, okay? All the other races were completely legit, no need to look at those, in fact, let’s just change the subject entirely and, hey, look over there!
