Hi Constanza!! Please tell us how excited you are about 2020 being over and getting to 2021?! Any new projects you can tell us about?
Hi! Thank you for having me. Yes, what a year 2020 has been… but I am grateful for the things learnt in the midst of it all. I am looking forward to releasing new music in 2021. I am already recording it. Can’t wait to share it!
Do you think it’s necessary to live in a particular place in the world to be able to “make it” in music?
It really depends on which specific area of music your career is focused on. If you are a performer it might affect where you live but if you are a music producer/engineer probably not so much as you can work long distance with artists all around the world. Things have changed so much. I am grateful for the flexibility that musicians have nowadays thanks to technology.
How often should an artist reflect on their work to make sure that they’re always evolving?
I would like to think that it is like any other job but it’s not. Being an artist involves a lot of things at once. You have to wear different hats. There’s the creative one where you need to constantly develop your creativity, strengthening your instrument skills, etc. Then there’s the business hat that I personally wish I don’t have to wear but I am learning a lot when I do so. The most important thing is to have a balance, taking each day at a time. As long as you’re working in your art, no matter which hat you’re wearing, you are growing and evolving.
With so many changes in 2020, what advice would you give an artist if they’re nervous about this upcoming year?
First of all I would say that it is okay to feel how they feel. But I would encourage them saying that life is always uncertain and the gifts given to us are the means we can use to bless others specially under challenging circumstances. We can take all the feelings we are experiencing and make something beautiful to serve others and it will surely reward our souls too.
