Family takes the spotlight in the season one trailer for the CW’s upcoming series Superman & Lois.
Featuring Tyler Hoechlin and Bitsie Tulloch in the titular roles, the newly released teaser gives Superman fans a look at what life may be like for the iconic comic book couple in Smallville.
“We all begin as one version of ourself, but as we grow life changes us,” says Hoechlin’s Clark Kent.
The trailer features a rotoscoped montage of Clark and Lois’ various life events in Smallville – from the birth of their first child to the growing tension that will ensue between the parents and their teenagers. Superman soars through fragments displaying his family members and pulls together the loosening fibers to create a family portrait.
“Under the torn fibers is a strong person forged like steel with the courage to fight for those we love,” Hoechlin continues. “What was lost can be found in family.
The CW’s Superman & Lois will follow the titular characters as they leave for a low-profile life in Smallville following the events of the Crisis on Infinite Earths. Away from the stressors of their past lives, Superman and Lois must make a life for themselves and their two teenage boys.
Todd Helbing, Greg Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Geoff John serve as executive producers for Superman & Lois. The super hero series is slated to premiere on the CW in January 2021.
