Justin Timberlake and Jessica Biel, like so many other celebs, want YOU to vote on November 3. The dynamic duo shared a clip from her 2003 movie, ‘Texas Chainsaw Massacre’, to reveal why you need to get to the polls.
November 3 is now just weeks away, and many celebrities are using their platforms to encourage their fans to not only register to vote, but actually vote in the 2020 presidential election. Stars like Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Lady Gaga, Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lopez, Michael B. Jordan, Taylor Swift, Halsey, and Kerry Washington took to social media on September 22, National Voter Registration Day, to make sure their fans’ voices are heard when it comes to selecting the United States’ next president: Joe Biden or Donald Trump. Here’s what they had to say.
Justin Timberlake & Jessica Biel
“Halloween movies are scary and all – but 2020 IRL is about to get a lot scarier if we don’t get out there and VOTE. Only a few more days!!! Text 3 friends over the next 3 days and make sure they’re all set to get their ballot in,” Jessica Biel wrote on Instagram on Oct. 30 after she posted a clip from 2003’s The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, a movie she starred in. And immediately after, Justin shared the clip in his Instagram stories and said, “What she said.”
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga, 34, slipped back into her infamous MTV Video Music Awards meat dress, along with several other of her most iconic looks, to encourage people to vote in a new PSA she shared on Instagram on Oct. 30.
Sophie Turner
Sophie, 24, isn’t an American citizen, but her three-month-old daughter, whom she shares with American husband Joe Jonas, is. Needless to say, who runs the country is extremely important to her. The Game of Thrones star posted a photo to her Instagram Story on October 29 that showed her wearing a chic, Louis Vuitton “VOTE” sweatshirt. She tagged LV’s creative director in the post, writing “Couldn’t have said it better myself.”
Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd followed Mariska’s lead and visited voters waiting in line to encourage them to keep waiting at the polls. It was pouring rain in New York when the Avengers: Endgame star, 51, showed up at a polling station in Brooklyn with cookies in hand. He stood outside without an umbrella and appeared to be thanking fans who were doing the same, just so they could submit their ballot.
Mariska Hargitay
Take it from Olivia Benson herself — voting should be enjoyable! Mariska Hargitay made fans’ days when she showed up to a polling station with goodies in hand for tired voters. The Law & Order: SVU star, 56, walked up to a massive line of people waiting to vote in Midtown Manhattan and started tossing them cupcakes! “Thank you everyone for voting,” she said in a video posted to Twitter on October 27. “Who’s hungry? Who wants a cupcake! Who says voting’s not fun!”
Kim Kardashian
Kim Kardashian, 40, made headlines on Oct. 28 when she posted pics of a late birthday party she threw on a private island and used the opportunity to encourage people to vote. After some critics complained that she shouldn’t be throwing a party in the middle of a pandemic, even though she insisted everyone had “multiple health screens” beforehand, she took to Twitter to simply address the backlash with more pics of herself looking gorgeous and a powerful message. “Now that I have your attention…this is a reminder to VOTE. 6 days,” the message read.
Lizzo
Lizzo, 32, was a glorious sight to see when she took to Instagram to share a video of herself looking patriotic while dropping off her voting ballot at a ballot drop off box on Oct. 28. The singer was wearing a red, white, and blue crop top that was in the pattern of the American flag along with white denim shorts and silver glittery boots. She also showed off her long curly red locks and a metallic silver face mask.
“I VOTED. This is my 3rd time voting in my whole life. When you think about how few and far in between that is it really puts things into perspective!” she wrote in the caption for the video. “I believe this is the beginning of making voting ACCESSIBLE and FAIR so that this country reflects its people. To all my activists, thank you for your constant organizing & service. Let’s get our vote in so we can get back to the good fight for true liberty and justice for ALL. Have YOU voted yet?”
Orlando Bloom & Katy Perry
Orlando Bloom, 41, and fiancée Katy Perry, 36, took to Instagram with a special musical message for their fans on October 28. The couple sang a dorky (but adorable) little song about voting while sipping their coffee in the morning. “This is for the future generations, by the way. This little ditty is going to be for Daisy Dove,” Orlando says after finishing the song, giving a shoutout to their newborn daughter. “We just wanted to say good morning and vote, now,” Katy chimed in. “And reminding you that your vote matters. And head to the polls. I’ve already voted — Orlando can’t.” The British actor added, ““I’m asking all of you to do it for my Daisy Dove.”
Vanessa Hudgens
Vanessa Hudgens, 31, shared a photo of herself holding up a sign that urged her followers to vote while standing with Seth Phillips, who is known as @dudewithsign on Instagram. Seth was holding up his own sign, which read, “Let’s Get Spooky,” while the actress’s sign read, “But Not Until You Vote.” She was wearing a white face mask in the snapshot along with a long black dress with a belt under a black jacket and black boots. “PRIORITIES YOU FEEL? @dudewithsign,” she wrote in the caption.
Rebel Wilson
Rebel Wilson, 40, took to Instagram on Oct. 21 to post a photo of herself standing and holding an American flag along with a message that expressed her gratitude to live in the states and encouraged citizens to vote. “When I was a little girl, I always knew I wanted to live and work in America,” the Australian wrote. “I came here a decade ago with one suitcase and a doona (duvet 🤓) and a hard working mindset. I’ve met so many amazing and talented Americans whilst I’ve been here and sending love to you guys with the upcoming election 💕 #vote”
Jared Leto
Jared took to Instagram on Oct. 21 to post what appeared to be a nude mirror selfie that showed off his buff muscles and used the caption to remind people to vote. “Happy hump day P.S. Don’t forget to vote 🗳,” he wrote.
Zoe Saldana
Zoe Saldana partnered with the group Vote Like A Madre to encourage Latinx mothers, like herself, to vote for candidates who support climate change action on November 3. The Guardians of the Galaxy actress, 42, starred in a passionate PSA for the group, outlining why it’s so important to “promise” kids that they’ll do so. “Pinky promise your kids that this election, you’ll Vote Like A Madre. That you will choose candidates with bold plans to fight climate change,” Zoe says in the video, shared EXCLUSIVELY with HollywoodLife on October 16.
Jennifer Lopez
Jennifer Lopez encouraged the Latino community to vote while marveling at the influence they could have in the upcoming U.S. presidential election during the Oct. 14 episode of Apple Music’s SOMOS Radio. “It’s like we’re this huge community in the United States. We hold all this power,” J.Lo told Cuban-American singer Camila Cabello on the radio show, adding, “We deserve to be celebrated and acknowledged for what we contribute to this country.”
“For me, I was on speaking with some people yesterday, and they gave me a stat, which blew me away,” J.Lo continued. “I don’t want to get it wrong, but it was something to the effect of… don’t quote me, 25 percent of the people in the United States are Latino… And that’s not the stat. The stat is our economy, what we contribute, if you added that up and put it in a list, we would be the eighth strongest country in the world.”
With that said, J.Lo wanted Latino voters to go into the Nov. 3 election with their “economic power” in mind: “We have the ability to put, just like we helped with [Barack] Obama, put the first black president of the United States. The Latino community had so much to do with that. We have the ability to change the outcome of this election for whatever we want it to be. And I honestly believe that this country needs a change, and the Latinos have the power to make that change happen.”
Ashlee Simpson
Ashlee Simpson, 36, is eight months pregnant and still making her way to the ballot box. She revealed in an October 13 Instagram post that she has already filled out her ballot and voted early, posing with an “I Voted” sticker on her huge baby bump as she dropped her envelope into the box. She captioned the cute post, “Get out and vote! No excuses!” Husband Evan Ross commented, “Love u baby.”
Michael B. Jordan
Michael, 33, took to Twitter on Oct. 13 to share an up-close and personal shirtless photo of himself from the nose down to his upper chest. He was biting his bottom lip in the snapshot and giving off a sexy vibe as he told followers to “Vote Early” in the caption. What a way to get attention for a cause.
Taylor Swift
Taylor, 30, shared a special message with her fans on her Instagram story with a series of videos. “Hey guys, it’s National Voter Registration Day today. The election is November 3,” she said. “It’s really coming up and I’ve put together a swipe up of resources you can register if you’re a first time voter, check your registration, request an absentee ballot and you can figure out the process of voting early. We need everyone and it is more important than I can possibly say.”
She also shared a cute pic of herself holding a plate of cookies that showed her support for Biden and his running mate Kamala Harris, 56, on Oct. 7 while promoting an interview she did about the importance of voting. “I spoke to @vmagazine about why I’ll be voting for Joe Biden for president. So apt that it’s come out on the night of the VP debate. Gonna be watching and supporting @kamalaharris by yelling at the tv a lot. And I also have custom cookies 🍪💪😘,” she wrote in the caption.
Halsey
Halsey, 25, let her fans know that she was in the mood to register to vote! The “Without Me” singer, also a political activist, posted a cute photo to her Instagram story that showed off some unique makeup. Halsey, rocking a Los Angeles Lakers jersey, had the word “vote” painted on her face in bright red, the “O” over her left eye.
Kerry Washington
Kerry’s method of getting her fans to register to vote was a little dirty, but it got the job done. The actress, 43, tricked her Twitter followers into thinking that a Scandal movie was coming! Except… when you click the link included with her gif of Olivia Pope kissing Fitz, it leads to Michelle Obama‘s When We All Vote site! Now that’s one way to get people’s attention.
Jennifer Aniston
Jennifer Aniston poked fun at her appearance at the 2020 Emmy Awards with her message on Instagram. Sharing a video of herself trying to put out a fire that host Jimmy Kimmel set onstage, the actress, 51, wrote, “Let’s put out the dumpster fire that is 2020. Text VOTER to 26797 (or click the link in my bio) to check your registration, and make a plan to vote early. Do it for RBG!”
Kristen Stewart
Kristen Stewart, 30, doesn’t have social media, so Dylan Meyer lent her girlfriend her Instagram profile to get her message out. Sticking out her tongue and rocking a “VOTE” t-shirt, Kristen wrote, “I never do this, but for anyone who has not registered to vote, please take this opportunity to feel HEARD. And not hopeless. I am voting because I WANT to believe in our country. Because I believe in climate change.
“I believe in systemic racism. I believe in freedom of speech and the right to assemble,” she continued. “I believe in gun control. I believe that women have a right to make choices about their own bodies. I believe people have the right to live and love and identify however they feel in their hearts without fear. I believe that people care about each other. So try and have a lovely Tuesday and vote for your f**king lives.”
Samuel L. Jackson
Samuel L. Jackson hit fans with maybe the most compelling incentive for voting of all celebrities. If 2500 fans join his voting initiative, which he shared on Instagram, he’ll teach them how to swear in 15 different languages. Could there be anything better than learning how to drop an f-bomb from the master himself?

Actress Tia Mowry encouraged fans to show off their “I voted” stickers, which she proudly displayed in a stunning selfie. “#vote #bayyyyyang Show your #ivoted #sticker,” she captioned the gorgeous October 24 pic. In the snap, she rocked her signature bangs and stunned in a white sweater adorned with blue sequins.
