Lifetime’s reality series Married At First Sight just wrapped season 11. And due to some incredibly unfortunate circumstances, it was a season like no other. The pandemic forced the Decision Day to be put off for a few weeks. And the couples were really put to the test when they had to quarantine together. Inevitably, the stress of these difficult times affected some members of the cast.
It certainly affected Brett Lindsey, who was perhaps the most controversial cast member of the season. But the 35-year-old also made a bad impression from the start. He appeared to disagree with his new bride Olivia on practically everything, especially important subjects like having kids. His immaturity and bad attitude also led to arguments that cemented his villain status. But the straw that broke the camel’s back really seemed to come as a result of the quarantine. Adding to the stress was Olivia’s job as a nurse. She also said that coming home from work to find Brett watching the news was too much to take. When Olivia went to visit her parents, she returned to find Brett gone. The two even ended their relationship before Decision Day.

Unlike Olivia, whose account is private, Brett is public on Instagram. He has posted frequently in recent months, and has also earned attention for the very different side he shows on his profile. Most pictures are of his cats, and display his love of animals. Olivia’s cat Serena also made an appearance, although it’s possible that was just Brett’s way of hiding spoilers. Despite the marriage not working out, he has also posted a couple photos he took from filming. Showing he still has a sense of humor about the experience, his Instagram bio reads “Reality TV Martyr. Villain extraordinaire.”
Recently, Brett posted updates for his followers about dealing with the effects of Hurricane Zeta in his home state of Louisiana. Dr. Viviana Coles, one of the show’s matchmaking experts, even commented on one of these pictures. He was also rumored to be moving on to a new relationship. Soap Dirt posted pictures of him with a bikini clad woman who was very much not Olivia. His rumored new girlfriend is a blonde 29-year-old cancer survivor. News of this came out before the season ended, and although it counted as a spoiler, viewers were not surprised Brett and Olivia didn’t stay together.
Brett’s romance may have fallen flat, but most of the Married At First Sight season 11 couples had much better luck. Of the five couples this season, the only other pair that decided to split up was Henry and Christina. Time will tell if Brett finds more success in romantic relationships away from the reality TV cameras.
