Drake’s Birthday Dinner Menu Featured a Whole Lot of Raisins Where They Don’t Belong

Drake celebrated his 34th birthday on Friday night by throwing a huge party in Los Angeles during which he offered his guests some rather questionable dinner options.

While the exclusive event was of course invite-only, a few photos from inside the lavish affair managed to make their way on to social media, showing a space decked out in tons of candles, white roses, and gilded birdcages, complete with its own indoor spooky forest. Mask-less guests were packed inside the space, dancing on tables, sipping on Hennessey, and dining on top hat-shaped cakes and an assortment of foods inexplicably laden with raisins.

For his special day, the rapper offered his friends and family a curated menu with a few of his favorite foods. The appetizers were all extremely standard fare, featuring fried calamari, Caesar or baby kale salads, and a sushi platter composed of spicy tuna, California, and cucumber-avocado rolls. But it was the main courses where fans began to balk at Drake’s culinary preferences.

Once again, things started out normal enough with entrées like chicken bolognese, steak frites, and grilled shrimp. But things started to get a little dicey around the grilled cauliflower second course which boasted the very flavorful, but by no means unheard of, combination of sun-dried tomatoes, capers, raisins, and parsley. The real issue began with the subsequent dish of mac and cheese which appeared to feature the same melange of sun-dried tomatoes, capers, raisins, and parsley.

Most fans assumed that the inclusion of raisins in this cheesy side dish was merely a typo repeating the ingredients of the dish above, but a few suggested it was Champagne Papi’s take on a classic noodle kugel. For more still, it was merely the final nail in the coffin of 2020. But no matter what the reason, there’s no shame in a 34-year-old trying to squeeze a little extra fiber in his diet.
