Stephen Colbert Returns To Showtime For Live Election Special

EXCLUSIVE: Stephen Colbert is heading back to Showtime for another live election night special.

The host of The Late Show will front Stephen Colbert’s Election Night 2020: Democracy’s Last Stand: Building Back America Great Again Better 2020.

It marks the second live election special for Colbert after he hosted Stephen Colbert’s Live Election Night Democracy’s Series Finale: Who’s Going to Clean Up This Sh*t? in 2016.

The special will allow the late-night host the freedom to cover the election night without advertising while his normal network CBS will be airing election news coverage. The show will start at 11pm ET on November 3.

Guests will include Charlamagne Tha God, who is set to host his own late-night talkshow on ViacomCBS sibling Comedy Central and Alex Wagner, John Heilemann and Mark McKinnon, hosts of Showtime’s The Circus.

“It’s going to be a great night although my therapist has reminded me America has to want to change,” said Colbert.

The special will air live from Colbert’s “virtual underground political bunker” without an audience due to COVID-19 protocols. It is exec produced by Colbert’s The Late Show team and exec produced by Colbert, Chris Licht, Tom Purcell and Jon Stewart.
