‘Finding Jack Charlton’: Debut Trailer For Doc About England’s World Cup-Winning Soccer Legend

EXCLUSIVE: Here’s first-look footage from Finding Jack Charlton, the sports doc directed by Gabriel Clarke (Bobby Robson: More Than A Manager) and Pete Thomas, telling the story of the soccer legend.

Noah Media Group’s John McKenna and Torquil Jones produced the movie and the company is handling the UK and Ireland release, with a theatrical run set for November 6 followed by Digital, Blu-ray and DVD on November 23.

The documentary features key characters from Charlton’s career, with contributions from his family for the first time, including his wife Pat and son John. Also appearing are Andy Townsend (who is also an executive producer), Paul McGrath, Niall Quinn, David O’Leary and Packie Bonner, U2 drummer Larry Mullen Jr., politician Bertie Ahern, comedian Brendan O’Carroll and more.

It chronicles Charlton’s hugely successful career, from his key role in England’s 1966 World Cup-winning campaign to his time becoming an Irish hero, guiding the country’s national team to the 1990 and 1994 World Cups as manager. The filmmaking team had access to detailed, hand-written notes that Charlton kept safe throughout his career.

The doc also explores Jack’s later life and his battle with dementia. He passed away on July 10 this year.

The film is parenting with charities the Alzheimer’s Society and the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland.
