Like many fans eagerly awaiting Blue Point’s upcoming remake of Demon’s Souls, you’re probably wondering just how the footage released so far of the remake stacks up with the original. Well, until From Software releases a video showing just that, a YouTuber has gone ahead and created an approximation of a comparison video.
A user by the name of Phobia has created a side-by-side comparison of the upcoming remake with the 2009 original. Now, before you go nuts, keep in mind that this is an approximation. What I mean is that Phobia captured the footage for the original Demon’s Souls using an emulator that ended up scaling the game to 4k 60 FPS. His goal was to give the original “the best chance possible” when comparing it to the remake.
In other news, it turns out that if you haven’t pre-ordered the game, Sony has thrown in a little incentive for you to do so. Spotted by some quick users, the official page for the game on the PlayStation website listed the Reaper Scythe weapon as a bonus for pre-ordering the game, but was later inexplicably scrubbed of any mention of the weapon.
The page had this description for the weapon: “The Reaper Scythe weapon – Once wielded by sorcerers who commanded the spirits of the dead. A pole weapon with a curved blade on one end that is so sharp that they say it can sever your soul from your body. The Reaper Scythe can mow down many targets in a single blow but is difficult to handle and requires both strength and dexterity to use.”
No word on when the pre-order will go back up, but it does pose the question of just what other goodies Sony has in store for the game.
Demon’s Souls is set to release on the launch day of the PS5 on November 12.
