A few weeks back, developer Destructive Creations teased their upcoming WWII-era game, codenamed WM. It turns out that it stood for the official title of War Mongrels, which had its big reveal at Gamescom 2020 with a brand-new trailer.
War Mongrels is an isometric real-time tactics game where you take control of a squad of soldiers on the Eastern Front during World War II. Your mission during the story-driven campaign? Kill Nazis. Of course, there’s more to it than that, as the atrocities of war gradually take their toll on your soldiers. The game takes heavy inspiration from actual events of the Eastern Front, so you can bet the game won’t flinch. War Mongrels will also feature co-op multiplayer, so you won’t have to tackle it alone.
War Mongrels is expected for a 2021 release for PC via Steam, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Xbox One and Series X.
