“One Love Fits All” is the newest single from multi-dimensional singer, Dawn Rix. Known for her country charted hit song “In America” and this summer’s kickin’ “Don’t Let The Makeup Fool You”, Rix is on a mission to spread love and kindness. Cementing her key role in the ever growing Christian Country scene, “One Love Fits All” is befitting of a singer of Rix’s caliber.
Rix, who is originally from West Virginia, gracefully sings (what if) all kids had to worry about was growing up…nobody had a need or reason to run…maybe heart didn’t have to shatter. Her voice is melodic and emphasizes the emotion on each and every word. She doesn’t just sing this song – she feels it. The listener does too. “One Love Fits All” is written by Nashville’s Sandy Ramos, Cory Lee Barker and Melissa Leigh. Rix worked with producer Justine Blazer. The teamwork is evident and the final mix propels Rix’s voice to the top of the podium. When she sings the chorus, how many have to fall before we make this world where one love fits all, the listener feels a need to raise their hands in praise. You smile listening to this song.

The music bed is just as lovely. It starts out with some high hat cymbals, like the heavens opening their gates, with Rix entering the groove quickly. The smoky, twangy electric guitar is ever-present. The tones move along like an ocean of blues and sharp, rays of light jutting through. The percussion is steady and not overbearing. As a listener, I never felt entangled in the music base. It does rock a bit harder about the midway point, with the guitar picking up tempo. I hear this a lot in modern country music beds, and what makes Rix’s song different is her voice. She really has a beautiful sheen to the song, and the guitar may rock, but she elevates this song to a whole other level. There’s a spark to her, a moxie in her voice that just ignites within her soul on each listen. In turn, the listener feeds off that energy and is licensed to spread the universal message.
The message in “One Love Fits All” is clear: love one another be kind to each other. It’s uplifting and inspiring and it’s as if this was hand-picked for Rix. What she has done to shape the words around her voice and convey her points is remarkable. The busy volunteer and sojourner to Nashville, does contribute as much as she can to several charities. She also founded Autism – The Missing Piece-Org, to raise Autism awareness. Her fans will be quick to remind you, too, that she’s served in the military. She performed in front of a crowd of 40,000 of her fellow Air National Guardsmen at the West Virginia Thunder Over the Bridge Air Show. I think music fans that enjoy Lee Ann Womack, Vanessa Williams, Martina McBride and Alison Krauss will enjoy “One Love Fits All”, as will Christian music devotees.
