Miley Cyrus has revealed her first sexual experience was a threesome with two girls & this honesty should be celebrated, not judged

Miley Cyrus just dropped her self-directed music video for her new song Midnight Sky and in the process, the 27-year-old has dropped another piece of news.

In the Call Her Daddy podcast with Alexandra Cooper, the singer revealed that her first sexual encounter was a threesome with two friends before she lost her virginity to her former husband, Liam Hemsworth, who Miley says was her first time with a guy.

Speaking openly and honestly – we always salute a bit of sexual honesty here – Miley said: “I didn’t go all the way with a dude until I was 16… But I ended up marrying the guy, so that’s pretty crazy.”

However, Miley, in a truly relatable moment, lied to Liam and said it wasn’t her first time. “I lied and said he wasn’t the first, so I didn’t seem like a loser,” Miley said before adding that she chose to lose her virginity with him because of their friendship. The fact that Miley lied came out 10 years later, “It was a lie that I held on to for like 10 years,” she said.

Further revelations came in the interview when Miley said, “the first time I ever hooked up with anyone was with a girl, two of them,” and that they went beyond, “first base.” Miley went onto reveal, “When I was 11 or 12 my friends were starting to tell me what they were doing with guys and I didn’t really understand it. So, I got most of my girlfriends to hook up with me. I was attracted to girls way before I was ever attracted to guys,” she continued.

Miley later talked again about her ten year on-and-off relationship with her former husband who she married in December 2018 and broke-up with in summer last year, saying, “The relationship I had for 10 years was an amazing time in my life.”

Following the divorce, Miley had a brief relationship with Kaitlynn Carter and said in the interview she struggled with the fact the media was portraying her as a cheat. “I feel like as a woman I was villainised for moving on and I really feel like that isn’t acceptable. And we couldn’t agree more. When a man moves on too quickly little is said, in fact they are usually praised. But when a woman does, she is vilified, whether that is publicly or within friendship circles.

Equally, when a man talks about a threesome he is heaped with praise but when a woman does it, she tends to be judged. But this judgement will not subside until we normalise the sexual activity of women and how we discuss it publicly. So, Miley, thank you for calling BS on sexual judgement and trying to normalise the conversation around female sexuality. It’s not only overdue, it’s needed. If we were all this open, with ourselves and others, this judgement wouldn’t exist.
