90 Day Fiancé: Why Chuck Is Right To Suspect Andrei Was Arrested Before

The star of 90 Day Fiancé: Happily Ever After? Andrei Castravet is getting grilled by his in-laws for his slightly shady past. Elizabeth’s father, Chuck Potthast, suspects that the Moldova native had some kind of trouble with the law in his native country and that is why he decided to move to Ireland.

Elizabeth’s American family is in Moldova to attend the couple’s second wedding, but they also have an ulterior motive. As the couple met online and quickly tied the knot, the Potthast family didn’t get much time to know more about Andrei’s past life. Now, the father-son duo wants to dig out all the information they can find about Libby’s husband.

On the way to Andrei’s parents’ house from the airport, Chuck and Elizabeth’s brother, Charlie asked all kinds of questions about Andrei’s life. Viewers got to know that the father of one was working as a detective in his native country before moving to Ireland. Andrei said, “I was not patrol. I was in the office. Like a detective.” Chuck was surprised to find out this new piece of information. He confirmed, “You were a detective in Moldova?” Obviously, Chuck then got curious and was adamant about knowing why Andrei left his native country, a career, and a reputable job to settle and work in Ireland. The Moldovan went from being a detective to a bouncer in a bar, which sounded suspicious to Chuck. He wondered if there was another reason for his son-in-law to suddenly change his career and move to a different country. Given Andrei’s hot-headed personality, it’s possible that he had a run-in with the law in the past.

When Chuck persisted, Andrei didn’t give any valid explanation for his move and just said, “Eh…just a stage in life, you know?” Libby’s brother, Charlie, chimed in and said, “That didn’t sound too convincing.” Then the TLC star finally said, “Well, I had some problems.” Charlie asked if he got in trouble, to which Andrei responded, with a smirk, “Yeah, something like that.” When probed further by Charlie, Andrei rudely replied, “You don’t need to know that sh*t.“

Although Andrei told Elizabeth that he had moved to Ireland for better work opportunities, the father-son duo thinks he got involved in some trouble with the cops. Otherwise, he could have simply shared the reason for his massive life shift. Chuck and Charlie just want to make sure Elizabeth is marrying a guy who doesn’t have any questionable history. However, they should have been making all these inquiries before the 29-year-old married the first time. Now, it seems too late for this conversation.
