Dame Judi Dench Says “TikTok Saved My Life”

International treasure Dame Judi Dench, says we have TikTok to thank for keeping her from shuffling off this mortal coil.

In an interview with Channel 4 News, while discussing the viral videos she’s been making with her 22-year-old grandson, Sam Williams, Dench enthused, “[TikTok] saved my life” during a time when “every day is so uncharted.”

“You wake up and you wonder what day it is, and you wonder what date it is, and sometimes what month,” Dench said. “And then you think, ‘What do I do today?’ And if the prospect is, ‘Well, what is there to do today?’”

She says that all credit for her viral TikTok stardom is due to her “strict” grandson who “made me do it. I had to rehearse all those moves. Don’t just think they come naturally!” She joked, “I hope I’m asked to do more, but of course, I can’t ask for the part.”

And now that Sir Anthony Hopkins has Tootsie Slided his way onto the scene, Dench suddenly has some serious competition for the role of most popular noble octogenarian on TikTok.
