Damon Thomas is a music producer, best known for his work with Harvey Mason Jr. in their production group, The Underdogs. The pair have worked with high profile artists like Lionel Richie, Pink, Chris Brown and R. Kelly. Damon has also helped produce several movies, like The Help and Dreamgirls. He also has a son with ex-girlfriend Sarai Torres.
Kim and Damon were married in January of 2000, and divorced in 2004. Kim said in an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians in 2018 that she was high on ecstasy when they got married during a conversation with Kendall Jenner and Scott Disick. She added that she did ecstasy a second time and ended up making her infamous sex tape with singer Ray-J. “Like, everything bad would happen,” Kim said of taking the drug. She is now known for being the most straight-laced of the Kardashian sisters, only drinking alcohol occasionally.

The marriage occurred when Kim was just 19. Damon is 10 years older than her, and was 29. When Kim does speak about the marriage, she describes Damon as being very controlling. She said on Keeping Up With The Kardashians that he was, “the king of the castle,” always deciding what they would do and when. Additionally, she claims that he convinced her to drop out of college, quit her job at the Kardashian clothing store, and get plastic surgery. “He said he did not want me to have contact with my old boyfriends who would be able to reach me at the clothing store,” she said on the show. Damon paid for Kim to get liposuction, apparently telling her it would make her look perfect. She said that he also paid for $1,000 worth of other cosmetic procedures. Kim has said that Damon physically abused her as well, especially when becoming paranoid about who she was paging.
Damon, however, has some choice words to say about Kim as well. He told the New York Daily News his side of the story in 2010, when he and Kim’s divorce papers were leaked by Star Magazine. The papers cited Kim’s claims that Damon physically and emotionally abused her during the marriage. Damon noted that he was the one who filed for divorce, and said it was because he found out that Kim was cheating on him with multiple men. He also said that she conned him into paying for her liposuction and other surgeries. “Kim is obsessed with fame,” he said in the article, “She can’t write or sing or dance, so she does harmful things in order to validate herself in the media. That’s a fame-whore to me.” Damon said that Kim invented the abuse claims to get more money from the divorce.
Not much has been heard from Damon after the release of the divorce records in 2010, and Kim has of course moved on. Her very public marriage to Kris Humphries that lasted only 72 days happened in 2011, and she and Kanye married in 2014. They now have three children together, and Kim rarely speaks about her messy 2004 divorce.
