Pink Donates $1 Million After Recovering From Coronavirus

Pop star Pink has disclosed that she and her three-year-old son tested positive for Covid-19 two weeks ago but are now over it and feeling better. And now that she’s back in the pink (look, I’m sorry) she’s handing out some green (I’m really sorry) by donating $1 million to help fight the pandemic.

Half the amount is going to the City of Los Angeles Mayor’s Emergency Covid-19 Crisis Fund and half to the Temple University Hospital Emergency Fund. As she explained via social media, the second donation is in honor of her mother, who worked at the Philadelphia facility for 18 years. (Pink currently lives in Los Angeles.)

The “What About Us” singer also took advantage of her announcement’s spotlight to call the lack of testing “an absolute travesty and failure of our government.” She added that considered herself fortunate that her primary care physician had access to tests.

Since we can all use a little comforting nostalgia, let’s take four minutes and thirty-three seconds to watch Pink, Lil’ Kim, Mya, and Christina Aguilera perform their cover of Labelle’s “Lady Marmalade” from Baz Luhrmann‘s Moulin Rouge!.
