A new challenge has swiftly made its way around social media. Nope, this isn’t the ALS ice bucket challenge that saw celebs like Anne Hathaway, Bill Gates and Taylor Swift willingly chuck buckets of ice-cold water over each others heads to promote awareness of Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (though that one helped raise over £100 million for its cause). This new one, the Do Your Part Challenge, is similarly underscored by the desire to help people who need it, but in a reflection of the times we find ourselves in now.
Already, it’s quickly picking up momentum, and it’s being sprinkled with the same celeb stardust that will (hopefully) help springboard the message far and wide. After being nominated by her sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, Britney took to Instagram to share her participation in the challenge.
“So our world is going through such hard times right now and my sister just nominated me to help people – whether it’s with food, or I’m getting your child diapers or whatever it is – DM me and I will help you out,” the singer told followers.
The star explained that she would pick three stories and do what she can to facilitate their needs. And, to help spread the positivity, she nominated her boyfriend, fitness instructor Sam Asaghari, her friend Cade Hudson (not to be confused with actress Kate Hudson) and actor Will Smith to do their part, too.
So, if you’re looking for a way to #doyourpart – giving back however you can and encouraging others to do the same – why not try the challenge yourself. Oh, and tag your friends.
