Everything But the Girl Announce Temperamental Vinyl Reissue

Everything But the Girl—the English pop duo of Tracey Thorn and Ben Watt—have announced a vinyl reissue of their final studio album, 1999’s Temperamental. The LP will be pressed to two 180 gram LPs, arriving May 8 via Buzzin’ Fly/Chrysalis. The reissue features half-speed mastering by Miles Showell at Abbey Road Studios. Check out a teaser for the reissue below.

Temperamental was recorded in 1998, and a majority of the tracks were laid down at Thorn and Watt’s home. “It was on reflection, a difficult album to make,” Watt says of the album in a press release. He continues: “With the recent birth of our twin girls in 1998, I found myself constructing much of the album in isolation, with Tracey inevitably more pre-occupied with family life. It was much less collaborative than it should have been. I guess we were just moving in different mental spaces a lot of the time.”

Last year, EBTG released a reissue of their 1994 album Amplified Heart. The reissue marked the first time that album had been pressed to vinyl.
