This buffing brush made me give up makeup sponges forever

I love to experiment with my eye makeup, testing out different bright and multicoloured designs. However, even though my eye makeup may look different every day, my base routine stays exactly the same.

I always start off by squirting one pump of foundation (usually the Dior Diorskin Forever 24H Foundation) onto the back of my hand. Then, I dot it onto each quadrant of my face using my fingers. Next, I blend the product inward with the Nyx Multi-Purpose Buffing Brush.

In the past, I was using a makeup sponge, but this brush gives me much more control over my foundation coverage — and it’s much easier to clean. I usually wash it with the same cleanser I use in my skincare routine. (This is a tip I picked up from Mario Dedivanovic.)

The brush’s synthetic bristles are as soft as a fuzzy blanket and tightly packed in a large, rounded shape to help buff in foundation evenly. I usually alternate between swirling the brush around in tight circles around my face and stamping it to make sure I don’t have any patchiness.

Once my foundation is set, I take my concealer (right now, I’m into the Milk Makeup Flex Concealer) and dab it under my eyes, around my nose, and on the centre of my chin.

Then, I blend with the same Nyx Multi-Purpose Buffing Brush. By the time I’m done, I swear my base makeup looks so seamless you can’t tell I’m wearing makeup.
