The £5 vegan liquid eyeshadow that lasts for 10 hours without creasing or fading

Don’t get us wrong, we don’t hate powder eyeshadows by any means, but they do have their issues. Firstly, many of them come in big palettes which aren’t exactly easy to carry around, they can sometimes be hard to blend or leave specks under your eyes after you apply them, and unless you choose wisely, they can fade or crease within a few hours.

This is why liquid eyeshadows have become our latest obsession. if you find the right formula you’ll be left with the eye makeup of your dreams – highly pigmented colour that doesn’t budge, crease or appear anywhere other than where you actually applied it to. We know, you’re probably asking if such a thing really exists and the answer is YES.

Thanks to the makeup geniuses at Elf, we have found the holy grail of liquid eyeshadows that will convince you to change your whole routine and possibly never go back to powders again (although if you’re like us, you’ll never actually turn your back on your fave palettes).

The vegan brand’s new £5 Liquid Glitter Eyeshadow collection comes in eight dazzling shades, from ’70s electric blue Ocean Eyes to the universally flattering Copper Pop and perfect smoky eye shade Black Magic.

The vegan and cruelty-free gel-based formulas are easy to apply using the flick-and-go wands and quick-drying so you don’t need to worry about any mess. They’re also small enough to squeeze into the teeniest of bags. Extra bonus points.

Fans wasted no time sharing their reviews on the brand’s website. One wrote: “I just received this eyeshadow in the mail today and oh my gosh is it great. Very sparkly, long lasting – I rubbed my eyes a bunch of times (because I’m a child) and it STILL didn’t smudge off.”

Another customer posted: “I bought the shades Copper Pop and 24K Gold. I don’t know what I was expecting, but these have exceeded my expectations. If you hate the mess of glitter, then you’ll love these because you don’t need adhesive. Just apply, blend and go!”

One reviewer said: “My eye look lasted an entire work shift (over 10 hours). One swipe is all you need. I really love that I can mix them up to create a gorgeous look.”

If you’re reading this and thinking ‘Great, but they’re not really right for the daytime’, then the good news is the Elf gods were listening and have also formulated some Bite-Sized Eyeshadows Palettes, £3 with the same ultra-pigmented and long-lasting formulas as the liquid ones, this time creamy and blendable with a mixture of matte and shimmer shades.

Wear on top of Putty Eye Primer, £5 (AKA the primer that broke the internet because it’s almost always sold out), which now comes in six shades. It is all kinds of incredible for providing eyeshadow-gripping technology, keeping your colour going for up to 12 hours and nourishing your lids at the same time.

Meet the Elf experts and shop its latest makeup collections at the GLAMOUR Beauty Festival in London from 20-22 March.
