When Ontario hunter Gino Meekis, his wife, and their grandson went hunting in October of 2019, they captured a bizarre, eerie sound on camera, Wide Open Spaces reports.
None of the hunters have been able to identify the sound, which sounds extremely low pitched and almost metallic in its echo. Though Meekis emphasized they would have had enough time to escape if there was danger, once they heard the creature beginning to move, still bellowing the strange sound, his wife had enough and returned to the car with their grandson.
Meekis followed shortly after.
The footage has been shown to several biologists over the months. None have been able to identify what could possibly be making the sound, only that it could potentially be a large mammal, and one likely in a large amount of pain. You can listen to the eerie recording below.
