When Penny Dreadful ended its run rather abruptly, fans were left clamoring for more.
Well you’ll have to wait just a little bit longer as the sequel – spiritually speaking – is coming in 2020 and John Logan the creator, writer and executive producer of the original series will be back.
Penny Dreadful: City of Angels takes place in 1938 Los Angeles. When a murder shocks the city, a detective gets entangled in the deep history of the city all the way to the devious actions of the Third Reich and radio evangelism.
Entertainment Weekly recently shared the first image from the show featuring Game of Thrones alum Natalie Dormer in the role of Magda. A shapeshifting demon who is acting as an agent of chaos in 1930’s LA. The first season will showcase three of her manifestations as humans and Dormer says:
“The audience will discover who those identities are as they continue to watch the show.”
