Having a different red carpet to walk every night would be, for many celebrities, a good excuse for keeping hair and makeup simple. Not Saoirse Ronan, though. Rather than resting on her beauty laurels, the Irish actor has instead used the publicity tour for Little Women as an opportunity to mix it up with a range of flawless makeup looks, each perfectly – and we mean perfectly – matched to her outfits.
Take the film’s Paris premiere last week. Ronan wore a dreamy two-tone gown from Galvan, which she complemented with a bold makeup look in the same contrasting hues. Ronan’s makeup artist, Kara Yoshimoto Bua, managed to find the exact shade of shimmering lilac for her eyes, and a pleasingly perfect lipstick match for the cherry red of the dress.

For the New York premiere, she wore turquoise-studded Gucci. Yoshimoto Bua matched it with graphic eyeliner flicks in the same hue, using Chanel’s Long-Lasting Eyeliner in Intense Teal, whilst the rest of her face was made up in neutral tones.

And even on the chilly rooftop of London’s The Corinthia hotel, for a daytime photocall, Ronan continued her run of flawlessly coordinated looks with a chestnut smoky eye and russet blush to match her brown polka-dot jumpsuit and chunky knit. And us? We’re never wearing boring black eyeliner again.
