This £10 vegan hairspray has so many 5-star reviews for halving blow-drying time

Much like waiting for the bus and for the kettle to boil, blow-drying your hair is one of life’s greatest annoyances.

However, a little-known vegan hairspray claims to cut your hair drying regime in half – and it has so many 5-star reviews.

Design Me Hair’s bestselling blow-dry spray, PowerDry.ME, £9.95, promises to decrease blow-drying time by up to 50%, control frizz, all whilst conditioning and smoothing locks and protecting against heat and UV damage.

The quirky bestselling haircare brand originating from Canada promises to be full of ‘nothing but goodness for your mane’ with sulphate and paraben-free products that are all vegan, cruelty and gluten-free, as well as being PETA certified. Boom.

So how does it work? According to the brand, the power lies in the high porosity formula that claims to give you youthful, glossy hair back in a matter of seconds.

PowerDry.ME forms a lubricious, thin layer around the hair fibres and prevents entrapment of water molecules due to tangling. The fast drying process is further enhanced by the product’s ability to cause excess water to bead out instead of soak into the hair.

As well as offering heat damage protection, it is also a split end smoother and breakage preventer, offers colour fade protection and hydrates and detangles.

The product is made of 4 defense elements: Vitamin E acetate, which helps breathe life back into hair; Provitamin B5, which penetrates into the hair cortex, strengthening and aligning hair structure; Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein to target elasticity and cuticle damage and silicone quaternium-16, a multifunctional ingredient that helps maintain moisture within the hair and protect it against heat.

The product has hundreds of 5-star reviews online, with people taking to Amazon to wax lyrical about the spray.

“I love this product – no doubt that it does reduce drying time – but what I love about it is that it tames, without any heaviness, my wavy (not in a nice way) hair. I really couldn’t bear to be without it now,” wrote one, with another added: “Great product. I have really thick hair and using a light mist of this spray reduces my blow-drying time by 50%.”
