Much like an extra shot in your flat white, a fresh manicure can really elevate your day. Whether it’s shellac, acrylics or an at-home mani, adorning your talons with a slick of polish just makes you feel that little more put together.
We’re constantly trawling Instagram for nail art inspo and the latest to pique our interest is sea glass nails.
According to our friends over at Allure, sea glass nails are a grow up version of the viral jelly nails we saw all over social media recently.
Slightly opaque, sea glass nails are finished with a slick of clear matte polish (use one with a sheeny finish, glitter or sparkles if you’re feeling extra).
According to Refinery29, nail supremo Jessica Washick trailblazed the trend on Instagram. Talking about her inspo, she told them: “I was reminiscing about how fun the jelly-nail craze was [and] I wondered how that aesthetic could translate into the colder months, and the vision of opaque sea glass came to mind.”
It seems she’s started a sea glass nail frenzy, with countless iterations of the trend cropping up on our feeds, each with their own spin. Here are some of our favourites people’s takes on the trend, from chic and pared back to festive and glitzy.
