This Year’s Highly Entertaining Crocodile Horror Movie ‘The Pool’ is Now Streaming on Amazon Prime!

At Fantastic Fest this past September, Ping Lumpraploeng‘s The Pool won the special mention award for “Most Fun Movie to See with an Audience,” and it was also awarded 4-stars out of the festival by Trace Thurman is his review for this very website. Much to our surprise and delight, The Pool surprise-dropped on Amazon this week, streaming free on Prime!

In the film, a man and his girlfriend become trapped in an empty swimming pool with a deadly crocodile. If that sounds like a fun premise to you, you’re sure to have a blast with it.

I watched The Pool last night and my own thoughts echo Trace’s for the most part. While the crocodile isn’t exactly the finest example of a computer-generated monster in 2019, the film is just so much damn fun that it hardly even matters. It presents a comedy of misfortune for its main characters, giving the film a self-aware sense of humor that it’s hard not to love.

As Trace wrote, “You’ll either be with it or you won’t be, depending on how you react to the premise alone. If you’re with it, you’ll be in for one of the most enjoyable theatrical experiences you’ll have this year.” Granted, you won’t be able to see the film in theaters here in the States, but I promise you’ll have just as much fun watching it in the comfort of your home.

Check out the trailer below and stream The Pool tonight through Amazon Prime!
