The Rookie, Stumptown Among Full Season Orders at ABC

ABC has decided on the future of some of its series.

The network has confirmed that new fall series Stumptown and mixed-ish have snagged full-season pickups.

The Rookie has also landed an order for more episodes, but the network has not confirmed exact episodes at this time of writing.

Emergence, which has not had the best start in the ratings is not getting a backorder, but a decision on a second season will be made in the spring.

It’s not uncommon for highly serialized dramas to have capped episode orders, but the ratings will certainly work against it.

Stumptown Season 1 is averaging 3.7 million total viewers and a 0.6 rating in the demo. With Live+7 factored in, the numbers soar 8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating, proving that there is a big audience for the series.

mixed-ish is pulling in 3.3 million and a 0.7 rating, but the numbers rise to 5.1 million, and a 1.2 rating with DVR factored in.

As for sophomore drama, The Rookie, it is averaging 3.7 million viewers and a 0.6 rating on Sundays, essentially steady vs. last year.

The show rises to 7.8 million viewers and a 1.3 rating with seven days of DVR factored in.

In a statement, ABC’s entertainment president, Karey Burke, said, “This fall, Stumptown has delivered a rich, inventive and fun thrill ride each week with a stellar cast that features one of the most fearless female characters at the center; mixed-ish has established itself as one of the sharpest, funniest and most original new comedies of the season; and The Rookie has continued to bring compelling storytelling and powerful performances to its passionate and loyal fan base.”

“Thanks to the brilliant creative teams behind these series, along with the phenomenal casts and crews, for delivering three incredibly entertaining and distinctive shows.”
