Clueless is getting a modern-day reboot (but there’s a major character missing)

It’s the 90s cult classic film that gave us plaid co-ords and the insult ‘dur’ and Clueless will be back in our lives with hour long TV episodes, but it’s not exactly the same as before.

The show will follow Cher Horowitz’s best friend Dionne, originally played by Stacey Dash, and takes place in Los Angeles 2020. The cast hasn’t yet been revealed and the show is currently being pitched to networks, but the premise sounds like the best clueless reboot dream we could ask for.

“It is described as a baby pink and bisexual blue-tinted, tiny sunglasses-wearing, oat milk latté and Adderall-fueled look at what happens when the high school queen bee Cher disappears and her lifelong No. 2 Dionne steps into Cher’s vacant Air Jordans,” according to Deadline.

There’s also a stellar team behind the show, with writers of classic comedy TV show Will and Grace, Jordan Reddout and Gus Hickey, on board, as well as creator of TV drama, American Gothic, Corrine Brinkerhoff.

We’ll keep you updated with more details as they drop.
