Gwyneth Paltrow Wished a Happy Birthday to Her Ex Husband’s Girlfriend Dakota Johnson

Dakota Johnson got a special happy birthday from her boyfriend’s ex-wife. Gwyneth Paltrow posted a photo of Johnson to her Instagram writing, “Happy 30th birthday to this absolute gem.”

Paltrow and her ex-husband, Chris Martin, have remained on good terms since their conscious uncoupling in 2014. Paltrow has gone on to marry producer Brad Falchuk, and the two are often seen on vacation or hanging out with Martin. Martin even went on the couple’s honeymoon last year.

“It’s very important to her to be on good terms with Chris’s girlfriends,” a source told People earlier this year. “She’s not at all threatened by Dakota and loves that Chris is happy — she’s very secure about sex and relationships and is not competitive in that way.”

The two couples recently went on vacation together. They were photographed on the beach in the Hamptons this August.

Johnson’s mother, actress Melanie Griffith, is also a vocal supporter of her daughter’s relationship with Martin. In September, she told People, “I love my daughter’s boyfriend. I think that they’re an awesome couple.”

That wasn’t the first time she’s gushed about Martin. Last year she told the magazine, “I adore him! But [Dakota] is very private about her life, and I respect that.”

Martin and Johnson have kept their relationship extremely private by Hollywood standards. Shortly after they started dating in 2017, a source told People how they maintain their quiet life together.

“Dakota has been filming out of state, but most weekends she comes back to Malibu to spend time with Chris,” the source said. “They are very low-key together. They usually have friends over and rarely go out.”
